Cartridges Law announces charity partnership with Baby Bank Exeter
We’re proud to announce that Cartridges Law is partnering with Baby Bank Exeter, a local organisation with a simple but effective purpose – collecting donated new and pre-loved items for babies and children and distributing them free of charge to families in crisis across Exeter and wider Devon.
Supporting families
Baby Bank Exeter helps families who are struggling for many reasons, including single parents, young parents, those who have been made homeless or are escaping domestic violence, and refugees arriving in the UK with nothing. Many are working families whose wages no longer cover their bills as a result of the cost of living crisis, or families experiencing delays to universal credit claims.
The service reduces parental stress, anxiety and financial burden, and supports parental mental health, particularly around the birth of a new baby. This helps to improve family relationships and living environments for babies and children, allowing them to thrive and giving them the best possible start in life. It also helps promote sustainability by reusing donated items rather than always buying new, reducing the volume of items that are thrown away.
“We have a big Family Law team, and much of our work is with families going through difficult times,” explains Partner Nicky Mein. “We see first-hand how hard things can be for parents, especially when there has been a crisis such as domestic abuse or homelessness. Baby Bank Exeter gives vital help to families who need it most, like those that we work with, and it is something that we are very proud to support.”
Supporting our community
In recent years Cartridges Law has participated in Baby Bank Exeter’s annual Christmas appeal, but this new partnership will see staff getting even more involved in fundraising and volunteering throughout the year.
“We’re already part of the community that supports the Baby Bank,” says Marketing Coordinator Hannah Mooney. “We’re now planning to increase our support with fundraising activities and volunteering. And of course, we will continue to contribute to the Christmas Appeal, something I look forward to each year!”
By donating time, raising funds and helping to raise awareness of Baby Bank Exeter, we hope to play a small part in giving more children in our community a better start in life.
