Work for Us
Want to work for an award-winning employer?
Cartridges Law has been established in St Thomas, Exeter for 50 years. We are rooted in our local community but work across Devon and the wider South West.
We offer a wide range of services to individuals and businesses, including residential and commercial conveyancing, litigation and personal injury, wills, probate, and life planning, family and child law, landlord and tenant, and general commercial work.
We have a well-deserved reputation for being dedicated to our staff and for our attitude to employment. We firmly believe that the support we give our staff members is an investment in our business, and that is reflected in the hard work and dedication of our staff.
“For Employer of the Year, the judges were unanimous. Cartridges Law was outstanding. They liked the firm’s strategic ethical approach to diversity and the empathy shown to the needs of staff. No pay gap and a genuine targeted placement scheme.”

Development opportunities
We are committed to recruiting staff from non-traditional backgrounds and place huge importance on staff development and training. We have a significant number of staff who have trained and qualified while with the firm. We have also taken active steps to make our recruitment processes more inclusive and our workforce more diverse.
Flexible working arrangements
We are a flexible employer and have staff on a wide range of different working patterns. We will always strive as far as possible, taking into account the needs of the team, to give people the working hours that work best for them, as we believe this enables them to give the best of themselves.
Staff wellbeing
We take the wellbeing of our staff seriously. We provide access to wellbeing information and a confidential counselling service, ensure that any member of staff can talk to the partners about any concerns they may have, and give extra care when personal issues arise.
We know that law can be a stressful career, so we have put measures in place to mitigate stress and improve the working experience of all of our staff members.
Employee engagement
The partners are committed to maximising staff engagement and are increasingly transparent in the information shared with staff about the financial aspects of the business. We encourage our staff to get involved with the running and success of the business.

Contacting Us
While we pride ourselves on being courteous and polite, sometimes we don’t get around to responding to every unsolicited job or work experience enquiry. A lack of response does not mean that we would not welcome a further application from you in the event we do advertise a suitable opportunity. It just means we’re particularly busy at that point in time!
