What’s your role within the residential conveyancing team, and what does a typical day look like for you?
I’m a Conveyancing Assistant, so I help with all sorts of tasks – from taking enquiries from clients to supporting the team with paperwork and updates.
How long have you been with the firm, and what first attracted you to join?
I have recently joined Cartridges Law and I was drawn to the friendly feel during my interview and the small, welcoming office.
What do you enjoy most about working in residential conveyancing?
Meeting new people and chatting with clients, whether it’s over the phone or face-to-face.
How important is a good relationship with Estate Agents and other providers?
Really important – all parties need to work together to achieve the best possible outcome for the clients.
What’s one piece of advice you often give to clients going through a property transaction?
Read everything carefully! It’s easy to miss something important if you skim through documents.
How do you stay organised and manage multiple transactions or tasks at once?
I prioritise tasks based on urgency and tackle them one at a time. It keeps things manageable.
What’s your favourite part of the conveyancing process and why?
Completion day! It’s so nice to see the process through from start to finish, and to know the clients are happy.
What’s one skill or quality that helps you succeed in your role?
Organisation – it’s essential when juggling multiple tasks.
If you weren’t working in conveyancing, what career path might you have taken?
It would probably have something to do with animals.
How do you unwind after a busy day at work?
I don’t really get the chance – I have an 8 year old boy who keeps me very much on my toes!
What motivates you at work?
Chocolate.
What’s a common misconception people have about conveyancing?
That it’s a quick and easy process.
What’s your favourite way to start the workday?
Sitting in the garden with a coffee.
