For our first exhibition of 2026, cARTridges welcomes Devon-based artist Henrietta Clavering.
Henrietta works in oils, graphite, charcoal and pastels, creating and teaching from her studio in Poltimore on the edge of Exeter. She studied Sculpture at Edinburgh and in Nova Scotia, Canada, before spending many years working in the creative industries. In 2014 she began to practice art again, focusing on drawing and painting.
“My work is landscape and figurative, Abstract Expressionist, and develops from memory, experience, and studio experimentation and process.”
Henrietta is member of Exeter-based CROW (Creative Older Women) and Devon Artist Network, and in the past year has exhibited at the Burton at Bideford Open Exhibition and Devon Open Studios, as well as being recognised on the Extended Longlist for Jackson’s Art Prize 2025. Having started her own business applying her designs onto fine bone china, Henrietta now teaches drawing and painting, with classes at Poltimore House.
Painting and Drawing Classes
Henrietta offers classes in drawing and painting at Poltimore House. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, you will learn, practice and develop your skills and techniques in small groups, with only 12 spaces in each class.
Drawing: Wednesdays, 10am – 12.30pm from 4th February 2026
Painting: Wednesdays, 1.30 – 4pm from 4th February 2026
