Heidi graduated from university with a degree in Law in 2010 and went on to study the bar professional training course and obtained the necessary qualifications to practise as a Barrister. Heidi was called to the Bar in 2011. She gained experience working in a law firm in the Torbay area, before moving to Cartridges Law. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and a CILEX advocate. She was appointed to the Law Society Children’s Panel in 2024.

Heidi primarily advises parents and other family members involved with the Local Authority. She advises on issues relating to child protection, care proceedings, adoption, and special guardianship. She has particular experience in advising parents and family members who are accused of causing injury to a child.

Heidi also has extensive experience advising:

• parents and grandparents within private law disputes relating to their children and grandchildren
• people seeking injunctive relief

Within her role Heidi frequently works with people with differing needs, including but not limited to learning needs, substance addiction, mental health difficulties, those suffering from domestic abuse and people whose first language is not English. She also regularly works with professionals from various support services.
