Faye Newbery
Faye is a partner and heads up the Housing Team within Cartridges Law. Faye’s work focuses on representing claimants and defendants in all areas of housing law, including Civil Injunctions, possession action, homelessness and disrepair. Faye also handles cases relating to general tenancy management including deposits and landlord responsibilities.
Since leaving University Faye has worked within Housing Associations, Housing Charities and Local Authorities and has over 23 years’ experience in the sector. In 2020 Faye was awarded highly commended in the Devon and Somerset Law Society Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year category.
Faye is an experienced litigator and confidently represents her clients through negotiation, problem solving and successful application of the Law, often representing them in court or mediation.
Her cases include discharge of civil injunctions, representation and successful possession for a landlord and overturning a local authorities homelessness decision, enabling the client to remain in accommodation.
I am proud that we remain as a firm, committed to Legal Aid and assisting clients, who wouldn’t be able to easily access legal assistance without us. The representation and advice I provide to all my clients makes a difference and it’s good to know that your job can change people’s lives for the better.

I could not have wished for anyone better than Faye to represent my son. She has been worth her weight in gold for the help she has given. Her knowledge about housing law is amazing and I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone who has problems especially those vulnerable people in society
