Clare studied Law at the University of Exeter and qualified as a Solicitor in 1988. Before retiring from full time practice in 2018 she was a salaried partner at Ford Simey LLP.

Since joining Cartridges Law as a Consultant, Clare has represented parents and other family members involved in Care Proceedings. She is an experienced Court advocate and has a particular interest in working with parents who have learning challenges. Clare also provides Local Authority funded advice to potential Special Guardians.

During her career Clare has represented children and parents in some complex cases, including those where there has been an alleged non-accidental injury to a child or children and other cases which necessitated Fact Finding Hearings.

In addition to my own case work I am able to offer practical support, guidance and encouragement to my colleagues. All of this makes my role as a Consultant extremely rewarding. In the challenging field of Child Care work, I really value the working relationships I have established with other lawyers and professional colleagues over the years. I remain dedicated to working towards the best outcomes for the children who find themselves the subject of Care Proceedings.
