We are pleased to welcome returning cARTridges artist, Julie Dunster.

Julie, who lives in Devon, uses the inspiring surroundings of the moors, coast and rolling hills for her art; capturing a fleeting moment in a landscape, emotion in a portrait or narrative in a still life.

Julie uses the age-old medium of oil paint which gives her the freedom to use a host of different techniques to create the effects she desires. For an extra challenge, Julie embraces all the weather the UK has to offer to create some of her paintings in a process called “en plein air”, winning prizes in paint-out competitions like The Great Broadway Paint-Off.

She regularly exhibits work alongside major art organisations like the Royal Society of Marine Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and New English Art Club, to name just a few. These take place at The Mall Galleries, London, the internationally recognised home to contemporary figurative art in the UK.

Locally, you’ll find her paintings at Vandly’s Galleri on Exeter Quay, and Seaglass Gallery, Lympstone. She also runs workshops and demonstrations for art groups, to enable budding or experienced artists a chance to find their unique artistic voice outdoors.
