Colin Wells

Head of Private Client
Fellow of the Institute of Paralegals
Joined Cartridges Law : November 2023

Colin started out as a Clerk over 23 years ago before studying for a PGDip in Law at Kingston University in 2010 whilst working as a fee-earner for various firms in the Home Counties. Before returning to his native Devon in February 2022, Colin was a non-solicitor Partner specialising in Private Client matters in a firm in London.

Colin has a plethora of experience gained over the last 23 years in dealing with families, drawing alongside them to make their legal experience as simple as possible in sometimes the most difficult of circumstances. Colin has also acted as advocate for clients in hospitals, care homes and in the Coroner’s Court.

Recent cases include complex Wills where multiple families are involved, high net worth estates and complex Powers of Attorney where there was more than four attorneys and replacement attorneys.

I believe that to fully understand what the client requires I need to get to know the client first, spending time developing a relationship around the scope of work resulting in a happy client who will return to the firm.

In my spare time I am a local Parish Councilor, a member of the local Independent Schools Appeals Panel, a musician and published author.
