Protecting Yourself and Your Children
We are leading family law and domestic violence solicitors in Exeter. If you are facing violent or abusive behaviour from a partner, ex partner or family member, our highly experienced domestic violence lawyers can help. We are providers of legal aid for domestic violence cases and can advise whether you are eligible
As soon as you make initial contact with us, a specialist domestic violence lawyer will advise you of any urgent steps you should take. Our first objective will be to work with you to ensure that you and your children or other vulnerable family members are safe.
We will talk to you about your options. Where necessary, one of our domestic violence solicitors will advise and represent you in an emergency application for a non-molestation order and/or an occupation order.
What is a non-molestation order?
A non-molestation order is a type of injunction designed to prevent your abuser from threatening, harassing or otherwise intimidating you or your children. An occupation order will secure your home for you and your children pending a further court hearing.
If you are experiencing domestic abuse or are worried about your safety or the safety of your children, please contact us and we will work with you to secure your safety and wellbeing and that of your children.
A named member of our family law team will deal with your case throughout. You will be given clear and focused advice, including guidance about your position and how much the case will cost, where relevant. Legal aid for domestic violence cases may be available, depending on your financial eligibility.
Please direct any initial enquiries to Mark Fairchild, Family Team Administrator.
Further support in Devon is available through the Devon Domestic Abuse Service provided by Splitz.
