Penny qualified as a solicitor in 1995, she previously worked for several years with children and young people, and in the health sector as a counsellor. She brings those people skills to her work as a lawyer.
Penny is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and is a specialist lawyer representing children, professional guardians, parents and grandparents in all types of children law cases, including care proceedings and adoption. She is an experienced advocate. As an appointed member of The Law Society’s Family Law Committee Penny also helps represent the views of family lawyers nationally to policy makers and government.
For the last 4 years Penny has been the Managing Partner of Cartridges, leading the firm’s management team during a period of change for Cartridges and for the legal profession generally. In this time Cartridges has grown its role as community business leader; remained committed to legal aid; and developed new areas of business and private client work.
Penny’s out of work interests include gardening, swimming, film and theatre, food and drink, reading, learning Italian and travel. She is a trustee of The Bike Shed Theatre, Exeter.
