James Durston

Case Worker

James joined Cartridges in 2005 after previous jobs at the CAB as a debt adviser, and later with OFWAT helping customers with complaints about South West Water. He has always enjoyed working on behalf of individuals, advocating for their rights against large organisations. He works exclusively in our housing department part time, advising mainly tenants and homeless people on their rights, advocating for them in court and at review hearings.

When not at work James enjoys tending fruit and vegetables at his allotment, and long-distance running.  In 2013 he achieved an ambition to run a marathon in under 3½ hours.  He also enjoys helping the other keen runners in the office to train for local races, and can often be seen jogging around St Thomas with them at lunchtimes.
